We're searching for ten neighborhood heroes that are making amazing things happen for our community. In partnership with JPMorgan Chase & Co, we're ready to recognize them and supercharge their impact. 

We are scouting for outstanding leaders strengthening their communities and tackling the most important issues facing South Florida. We will select ten individuals to join our second cohort of Leadership Lab - a fellowship focused on supporting powerful leaders to strengthen their local social impact. Each leader taking part in The Leadership Lab will attend a total of three labs and six coaching sessions, while gaining access to resources, tools, coaching and a network of support and mentors.

We want to invest in the capacity, sustainability, and ultimate impact of neighborhood-based leaders and organizations working to strengthen low-income communities. Many community advocates rarely have the space and tools to strategize and develop professionally with the support of expert coaches and a network of allies. Because we are obsessed with sustainability and impact, we are building a space to share some of our best workshops, resources, and coaching with South Florida's most dedicated grassroots leaders.

WHO: We will select ten neighborhood-based leaders from a variety of communities throughout South Florida to participate in the cohort. These leaders are anchors in their communities and already having a tangible impact in the areas they serve. They currently have a social impact organization or are in the process of building one. Above all, they are driven, passionate, and ready to grow their impact.

WHAT: Community leaders will participate in an intensive eight-week leadership journey including a kickoff event, three full-day labs, six hands-on coaching sessions, and a closing event. The cohort will benefit from tools and resources, hands-on workshops, individual coaching and mentor sessions, community building, and networking opportunities. Topics covered will include personal brand and vision, pitch and public speaking, fundraising and network building, budgeting and legal health, organizational positioning and power mapping, and impact evaluation and long term planning. Members of our new cohort will gain access to high-quality leadership development and in-depth coaching and become a part of a network of local leaders that will live on beyond the program.

WHERE/WHEN: Applications will open on March 5th 2018! Please check back here to access our online application. Those selected in the first round will be invited to an in-person interview and final selection will follow shortly after.

The program will run from the May 10th through June 30th, 2018. All three labs (10am-4pm on Saturdays) and all six coaching sessions (4:30pm-7pm Thursdays) will be held at CIC Miami (1951 NW 7th Ave, Miami FL 33136)*. Specific assignments after each lab will be a critical part of ensuring that each leader gets the most out of each lesson and is accountable for their progress in the subsequent weekly coaching sessions.

COST: Participation in this program is FREE thanks to the generous support of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Participating organizations give back by scaling their community impact and by giving 100% of their effort to the program.

The Leadership Lab is tailored to provide support to leaders that believe in the power of community and take on initiatives that empower the community to build itself up. These initiatives can be grounded in certain issue areas - for example, business development, affordable housing, or social justice - but must show that the initiative serves to work with the community to enact change and make measurable progress towards community vitality.

We're looking for applicants who are willing to think about their work differently - who are willing to have difficult conversations, take risks, and shake things up in the name of expanded impact. We're not looking for leaders who know how to do it all. Rather, we're looking for individuals who can both demonstrate past successes AND reflect honestly about pain points in order to conquer the challenges faced by their communities.
